May has been an intense month for all things Pit and Pendulum centric, with screenings all over, a couple of awards (Best Short film, twice in a weekend), the DVD production ramped up for delivery, and interviews popping out of the virtual woodwork... Meanwhile, with all this stuff going down, I had a chance to jabber with the fine fellows of ScreenGeeks.com for an interview- A great way to spend an afternoon. Dave & Barry of Screengeeks.com are just the coolest guys, and a real joy to chat with on the horn. The coolest thing is the interview/ gab session will be posted on their site June 1, for all to hear- Tune in for nearly an hour of Geeky banter as The Pit and the Pendulum Director Marc Lougee exhumes closet-bound skeletons, flings opinionated diatribe & spills his beans on the production of the The Pit and the Pendulum short film and stop-motion animation in general. Lots of info comes to light on the production process of the film, from puppets to CGI integration and puppet design and construction, to mention a few points of interest. If you're a fan of the medium, have a listen- I think you'll find something in there for everyone. Tune in June 1st, and let the fellows know you heard about it here! Meanwhile, pass some time reading the full film review of the Pit and the Pendulum screening Dave of ScreenGeeks.com caught at Starfest/ Horrorfest 2008 in Denver; "In order to try to keep our own hype-machine for The Pit and the Pendulum short film under control, I decided I need to write a review where I can rant and rave about how much I love this short and then I can spend the rest of my time talking it up and urging to people to see it in a bit of a more relaxed, not-so-fanatical way. The short version? It’s absolutely brilliant and needs to be seen by everyone.
