I started clay animation a while back, maybe a few years ago, after learning that I could actually make one myself. I was in a clay class and another student said that he was going to make some claymations using the clay we were using at the time. So i got myself some clay, used my parent's camcorder, and figured out how to use windows movie maker to put the images together. I'm not totally sure why I did it(can't rememer), but I had watched many claymation type things before and I probably thought that it was cool to do.
What about you?

I started around 2 years ago. I was looking for a Hobie at the time.I was watching TV and this kid poped up on a commercial saying 'I'm a clay animator!' and the rest on the commercial was About him animating. so I decided that i give clay animation a try. I got on line picked up a few tutorials.and i was hooked!

Mine is pretty basic really, I found out how stop motion cartoons were made at about 7 years old (Late maybe....lol ignorance), and I was facinated by the idea. So I had a crappy camera, and my play do and started making small toons. Then I stopped doing it for quite a long time, due to school and such and I kind of forgot about it. D: And some time last year I really got into it again, and didn't want to let school/college get in the way of doing it anymore. And here I am. The end.

I have been watching movies all my life. When I was little I used to watch Discovery's "Cinema Secrets," a show about special effects. For my 14th birthday my aunt bought me a laptop. I used the intergrated webcam to take pictures, and then learned how to use Windows Movie Maker for stop motion. Most of my early videos were lego, but now I am experimenting with clay and better frame rates with Monkey Jam. I abandoned legos because they are too small to manipulate and I really like building puppets. I started because I love movies and have nothing else to do.
