When I was 5 or 6 my mother bought The Nightmare Before Christmas. It horrified me. Although some think it is a great movie, I think it is just creepy and weird. Maybe that's why some people like it.

Ok, I watched it again and it was a lot better than I remember. (I also now enjoy a lot of food I hated when I was younger.) However, some parts of the movie are just creepy for the sake of creepiness and don't contribute to the story.

When you think about the amount of work involved, it seems unlikely that the people concerned would have done one second more than they needed to. If you see the "making of..." 'Extra' on the DVD, you will see that several scenes got axed because of time constraints, or because they did not move the story along. I've seen the movie a number of times, and I can't remember one scene that was creepy just for the sake of it -- the whole thing was creepy. That was the point...
