Does anyone have any suggestions for some way of simulating a cobweb? I suppose I could try to use a real one, but I'd like to be able to reproduce the effect if I need a re-take...

I would try some of that halloween spider webbing. Take a tiny amount and pull it really thin and spread out. I think that should work.

There's always synthetic cotton balls - that's one popular way I've seen them done. I also saw one guy take a hot glue gun and spray it with a can of compressed bottled air. You know the kind that you get to dust your computer off with? If you hold those cans upside down when you spray the hot glue nozzle, it instantly cools the glue and makes spider webs. But it's hard to control.

(^ know: i've seen lots of different kinds of siderwebs in my day, the lighting of them is the tricky part. and depends on if you plan on having them catch flies or simply use them as atmospheric backgrounds. heck even cotton candy can and has been used to simulate spiderwebs melting in the rain.

I used fast tak spray glue for cobwebs in my set and it looks great. Shaken up fast then sprayed creates great cobwebs. I've made a tutorial too, and will post a picture of the set and the tutorial video soon

Thanks for all the suggestions. Hope to be able to show something soon. What is "fast tak spray glue", by the way? (I live in the UK, and I've never heard of it).
