Wow, I just picked up a used surface gauge on eBay for less then 6 freaking dollars. It's a 9" gauge, which should hopefully be more than enough. When I was a kid trying to learn stop-motion, surface gauges were way too expensive for me... I had to use a wire stuck in a block of wood, which worked well enough, I suppose, but it wasn't very positional.... Read More
After about a 7 month search and about a hundred different inquires I have finally found a really good Character Designer and all around fantastic artist in Canada by the name of Rich Lauzon. The funny thing is I have know about him for years and even own a few of his designs. I wrote out a treatment for Tulk last night... it was partially inspired by the passing of one our cats this past Wednesday. My wife thought the story was too sad and that I should perhaps offset the sad ending with a tiny spark of hope -- sort of that eucatastrophe thing Tolkien wrote about.
